The N377 Ellis Tobacco Recruit Cigarettes Civil War Generals pictures generals from both the Confederacy and the Union sides in colorful lithography for the late 1880's. The 25 card set are tougher than many of the mainstream issues but set completion is possible with patience and dollars. The set contains Lee and Grant as well as many of the other more well-known generals of the Civil War.
This lot is for a single N377 H. Ellis Recruit Cigarettes Civil War General of the key to the set and future U.S. President--Ulysses S. Grant. The card is in GVG to VG condition with mostly honest corner wear and a little nick on the lower left border. The card has a clean front and back with the field of the lithographed picture of Grant being in great condition. The N377 series is a very popular set of a very popular subject.
