The Mayo Tobacco Costumes of Warriors set is one of the more interesting sets of 19th century tobacco cards. It is a 19 card set, issued by Mayo to advertise their Holly Tobacco product as noted on the card backs. The cards have 2, 3 or 4 sides perforated which give them a look like a postage stamp. They are sized about the same as the normal 19th century tobacco card and can be found with either silver or gold background/edge printing. As they are perforated, it is believed they were printed in some configuration on one or more sheets to be torn apart.
This lot is for a group of (5) of the N303 Mayo Tobacco Warriors and Soldiers cards. The five cards in this lot are in VGEX to EX condition and contain (3) cards with silver borders and (2) cards with gold borders. Great lot that represents about 25% of a complete set.
