The N566 Newsboy series pictures Actresses and numbers into the hundreds of cards. The Newsboy cabinets were likely point-of-sale giveaways for buying the Newsboy brand of tobacco. The cabinets are standard 4-1/4" x 6-1/2" cabinets and have an albumen photo adhered to a red-inked mount advertising Newsboy of New York at the bottom front of the cabinet. Cabinets are blank-backed and often numbered on either the cabinet front or within the photo field itself and, occasionally both places. Many actresses have multiple poses or can be found with different mounts and the set offers the variation collector some real opportunities.

This lot is for a group of (16) N566 Newsboy cabinets in VG to EX condition, averaging mostly VGEX. Other than photo clarity, these cabinets are generally in nice shape with just a couple having any obvious faults. Some of the names in the lot of 15 include: Paula Edwards, Della Fox, Mme Rolla, Isabelle Irving, Alice Evans, Jenny Joyce, Annie Pixley, Kittie Conners, Minnie Hauk, May Robson, Marie Burroughs as well as 3-4 where name cannot be determined.
