The N566 Newsboy series pictures Actresses and numbers into the hundreds of cards. The Newsboy cabinets were likely point-of-sale giveaways for buying the Newsboy brand of tobacco. The cabinets are standard 4-1/4" x 6-1/2" cabinets and have an albumen photo adhered to a red-inked mount advertising Newsboy of New York at the bottom front of the cabinet. Cabinets are blank-backed and often numbered on either the cabinet front or within the photo field itself and, occasionally both places. Many actresses have multiple poses or can be found with different mounts and the set offers the variation collector some real opportunities.

This lot is for a group of (6) of the green mounted numbered N566 Newsboy Tobacco Actress cabinets. The subjects included in this lot are #301 Madge Alphabet, #305 Pauline Hall, #308 Della Fox, #310 Rose Coghlan, #324 Lyla Kavenaugh and #325 Jessie Bartlett-Davis. The cabinets are in mostly VGEX condition. The Pauline Hall cabinet has some writing on the back in period hand and ink.
