L20/L21 College Leathers Lot of (43) With One Oddball Leather

The L20/L21 College Leathers sets are some of the largest sets of leathers that were issued during the 1910's period of tobacco leather inserts. The L20 set is generally believed to be a set of about 150+/- college leathers from mainstream as well as obscure colleges and universities. There are, however, literally hundreds if not 1000 or more variations of these leathers in terms of the type and color of leather they are embossed on or the type or color of foil that is used to emboss them or whether or not foil is even used. The L20 set is a variation collector's dream. The L21 set has (3) different subsets. Those leathers all have triangular pennants with the school name or symbol in them and fall into the different types.

This Lot includes (43) L20/L21 college leathers and one oddball leather with a painted symbol on it that may or may not be a tobacco leather. It is about 2-1/2" by 2-1/2" in size.
