N83 Duke Tobacco Ocean and River Steamers Near Set (27/36) Cards

The N83 Duke Tobacco Ocean and River Steamers is an ornate set of cards picturing boats that traveled up and down rivers of the U.S. moving both people and goods and helping build the early industrial economy of the U.S. By the 1880's, steamboats had enjoyed nearly a century of use around the world but were still an interesting enough subject to create a tobacco card set for. The size of the set, at 36 cards, is somewhat odd compared to the rest of the Duke sets, which mostly measure 25-50 cards.

The condition breakdown on this near set of (27/36) is as follows: VGEX to EX condition (18 cards), VG to VG+ condition (7 cards) and GVG or less (2 cards). This near set coud be a very nice set with a few additions and just a small number of upgrades. Most of the cards in VG to VG+ condition have some light stain on the back as well. Great lot with fronts on these cards that are just beautiful.
