The N157 Sunny South Series are a series of tobacco cards picturing African American subjects--often in racially stereotyped poses. The set can be found with advertising from a number of different tobacco companies and brands including Honest Long Cut and Gail & Ax Bob'Link from Duke tobacco or Sweet Lavender and Old Gold from Kimball. Not all subjects have been seen from all brands.
This lot of (3) cards from the difficult N157 Sunny Sough Series includes a pair from Honest Long Cut in VG to VGEX condition. The first is of the man eating watermelon in VG condition and the second is three boys playing marbles in VGEX to EX. The final card in the lot is from the Gail & Ax Bob' Link Long Cut set picturing the African American sitting with his hands behind his head. This card is in VGEX to EX condition and very clean with some light pencil writing on the back of the card.
