The T90 La Marquise Cigarettes Birds lot is one of the more interesting 20th century tobacco card series. The cards feature a number of birds from all over the world. The card stock is a white background with a crude line drawing of the bird set against some greenery. Those facts in and of themself don't lend to an "interesting" set. It's the fact that La Marquise had the cards made with a real bird feather attached to the body of the bird to give it a more realistic look. The cards are the only cards that have some type of actual animal product added to them from either the "N" or "T" classifications. They have no identifying marks on them as they were inserted into a glassine envelope with the La Marquise brand advertising. They are particularly difficult.
This lot is for a single T90 of the Blue Backed Paroquet card--the #6 speciment from the set. The lot also includes the glassine envelope from La Marquise cigarettes. The card and envelope are in VGEX to EX condition and clean. Tough type card.
