The 1962 Topps Mars Attacks set is one of the 4-5 most iconic sets in the nonsport collecting hobby. Issued in 1962, Topps caught the collecting public off guard with these incredible, colorful images of Martians Attacking the Earth. Reminiscent of the H.G. Wells "War of the Worlds" radio broadcast which was narrated by Orson Welles on October 31, 1938, this series of cards shows graphic scenes of death and destruction.
This lot is for a single card from the Mars Attacks set which has been cut off centered--allowing parts of two cards to show on both the front and back of the card. The main portion of card #51 is shown on the card with a card from the 30's showing at the top of the card. Interesting card that would be a nice addition to a complete set of Mars Attacks or good card for the error collector.
