The N171 Goodwin series covers a number of celebrities, actresses and others and were issued in the late 1880's to early 1890's. The baseball and boxing figures are generally significantly more valuable but there are subjects within the non-sports figures that are even more difficult to find but don't have the level of demand.
A very obscure subset of the N171 Goodwin series are larger sized cards--more equivalent to the larger sized albumen photos of the late 19th century. These are exceedingly rare cards and are rarely seen.
This lot is for a pair of the larger sized N171 Goodwin Tobacco Old Judge Actresses to include the subjects Mlle. Lina and Mlle Theirese of Paris. Both cards are in what appears to be about EX condition but have some surface issues on the back. A phenomenal lot of very scarce cards.
