Not a great deal is known about the American Chicle Kis-Me Gum Confederate Portraits set. The set includes (140) members of the Confederate army hierarchy. The individual cards are actually printed on very thin paper with a printed back and size about 1.0 by 1.25 inches. In addition to the individual members photos/cards, there is a larger book plate sized picture that measures about 4.0 x 5.0 inches and it is usually found in the front of the album that the cards are almost always found in. The album is titled "Confederate Portrait Album". We believe that the cards came as a set and were assembled by the recipient, putting each picture in it's assigned spot within the album. This lot includes (6) PSA-Graded copies of cards from the set of (140).
This lot of (7) E-UNC American Chicle Kis-Me Gum Confederate Portraits cards have all been graded PSA6 or EXMT and include the following subjects: #19 Joseph E Johnston, #73 John B Magruder, #95 Jones M Withers, #100 Louis A Armstead, #106 James R Chalmers, #112 John Echols and #120 Roger W Hanson. All are clean copies of their respective subjects and would be a great addition to a graded set of these popular cards picturing currently controversial historical characters.
