Not a great deal is known about the American Chicle Kis-Me Gum Confederate Portraits set. The set includes (140) members of the Confederate army hierarchy. The individual cards are actually printed on very thin paper with a printed back and size about 1.0 by 1.25 inches. In addition to the individual members photos/cards, there is a larger book plate sized picture that measures about 4.0 x 5.0 inches and it is usually found in the front of the album that the cards are almost always found in. The album is titled "Confederate Portrait Album". We believe that the cards came as a set and were assembled by the recipient, putting each picture in it's assigned spot within the album.
This lot is for a near set (140/141) of the E-UNC American Chicle Kis-Me Gum Confederate Portraits set. The missing card is #82 or George Pickett. The overall condition of the cards in this near set range from Good to EXMT condition with most being squarely in the EX range.
