The Duke N117 Industries of States series pictures women dressed in what appears to be Greek or Roman garb next to a shield for the respective state represented. Since the cards were likely issued in the late 1880's to early 1890's the scantily clad women likely caused a stir. Many of the women sport a bare breast and little is done to cover them. The backs of the cards advertise Dukes Brands of Gail & Ax or Honest Long cut and, other than the Illinois card, this lot is nearly a pure Gail & Ax lot. This is a fantastic start towards a complete set of these popular 19th century cards.

This lot of (10) Different N117 Duke Tobacco Industries of the States includes (3) cards graded by PSA and (7) raw cards. The (3) PSA Cards include the following subjects: Maryland (PSA5 EX), Ohio (PSA2 Good) and Rhode Island (PSA1 Poor). The (7) raw cards are generally in uniform VG type condition and include the following subjects: Delaware, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Tennessee. Great lot that represents 40% of the complete set of these popular cards.
