The N3 Allen & Ginter set is 50 cards picturing weapons that date back from the beginning of time until the 1880's. It is an interesting subject matter being used to sell cigarettes in the 1880's. The lithography and artwork is top notch as it is on all the Allen & Ginter sets. The backs of the cards are printed in a red color, possibly intended to represent blood. It is the only Allen & Ginter set of the mainstream 44 chromolithographed sets that they issued that uses red ink for the back printing.
This lot of (20) cards from the N3 Allen & Ginter Arms of Nations include 20 different subjects that look to be generally in VGEX condition but most all have just a light dot of glue stain or discoloration in the center of the backs of the cards. The red printed backs are otherwise mostly in nice shape with only 1-2 of them having any paper loss. Nice lot and a good start to a lower mid grade set of these popular cards.
