The S100 Automobile silk set is arguably one of the toughest silk sets issued during the tobacco silk insert era. The set was produced for distribution in California for Factory 171 and contained (25) subjects. As with all silks and most of the card issues of the same time frame--the California issues are very difficult.
This near set of (15) of the (25) S100 Automobile Silks have all been at one time sewn into some type of pillowcase or blanket but are otherwise clean and display as VGEX to EX condition. The difficulty on finding even a single example of the series cannot be overstated and this lot contains two of the tough silks in the set for the Hupmobile and the Autocar. Great lot that represents 60% of a complete set of these impossible tobacco silk premiums.
