American Caramel was the undisputed heavyweight of Caramel cards created in the first quarter of the 20th century. Their sets were detailed and, in some cases colorful, representations of the subjects they portrayed. The nonsports sets are typically 20-25 cards in length such as this E49 Wild West Set. The set pictures Scouts and Indian subjects of the Wild West--a popular subject for cards in the early 20th century. Famous scouts in this set include Kit Carson, Pawnee Bill, Davy Crockett, Buffalo Bill and General George Custer. Famous Indians include Always Riding, Black Bear, Sitting Bull and others.
This set of (20) Cards is in Poor to Good/VG condition, averaging about Good. They are colorful representations of life in the Wild West. All suffer from some level of corner wear and light creasing but it is still an even, complete set that displays nicely overall.
