The E281 Schonwasser set is somewhat of an enigma in that little is known about it. The ACC notes that the cards are like "T85" cards in that most are bathing beauties. There is a one to two letter code on the back of each card and an offer to get larger sized photos based on those codes. The cards were originally issued in brown envelopes which are included in this lot as well. It is believed that the cards were issued sometime in the 1910's to early 1920's. The card backs state that 200 cards were issued and, to date, over 100 unique card identifying codes on the back have been cataloged. It is believed that the movie star cards issued by Schonwasser are actually a part of the overall set as the codes found on the back of those cards fit in line with the codes on the back of the bathing beauties cards.

Condition breakdown on this lot of (24) cards is mostly VGEX to EX condition and includes the following subjects: Mae Allison, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, Richard Barthelemess, Bessie Barriscale, Ira Carew, Betty Compson, William Desmond, Douglass Fairbanks, Wanda Hawley, Sessue Hayakawa, Harold Lloyd, Vivian Martin, Jack Pickford, Mary Pickford, Herbert Rawlinson, Charles Ray, Wallace Reid, Norma Talmadge, Rudolph Valentino, Bryant Washburn, Pearl White, Earle Williams and Clara Young.
