The Buchner N284 set contains baseball players, police inspectors, jockeys and actors. There are 103 known police inspectors checklisted in the set, most of which were New York and Philadelphia employees. The fronts of the cards feature drawings of the policemen in their uniforms or street clothes from the chest up. The backs of the cards advertise for the N284 set and its different component sets.
This lot is for a single card of Thomas Carroll--the commissioner of police in Brooklyn, NY. This is the exact card that was used as the plate copy in Mitchell & Forbes' American Tobacco Cards book. The card is in VGEX to EX condition with both a clean front and back.
