The Allen & Ginter Song Birds of the World set is a (50) card set picturing birds known for their ability to sing in some fashion or other. The birds are pictured in their natural habitat in a more muted color scheme that contains borders mostly of white with some type of foliage in the background vignette. The cards can be found in the larger N42 format like the cards in this lot or in the smaller N23 format cards.
This lot includes (6) cards from the N42 Allen & Ginter Song Birds of the World set most of which are in Fair to Poor condition. The subjects include: Bell Bird, Linnet, Mariposa, Orchard Oriole, Rose-breasted Wood Robin and the Whistling Thrush. The Mariposa card is in the best condition with no back damage but some staining to the card in the front. The other examples have back issues from back damage to scotch tape staining to fountain pen writing. Great filler lot until better copies come along. The scarcity of the larger format Allen & Ginter cards is often underappreciated when compared to their smaller format counterparts.
