Inaugural January 2019 Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 1/27/2019
While many collect the small cards that the tobacco companies used for advertising, there are also many other pieces of ephemera associated with these companies that shed some light into how they operated during the 19th century tobacco card era. This lot contains three billheads from tobacco companies that issued cards from the 1880's through the 1910's. First up is an Allen & Ginter billhead from 1891 that has a great graphic of the A&G Planter character in the upper left corner. The second billhead is from the Pinkerton company and has a great full color pack of tobacco in the upper left corner. The Pinkerton billhead is signed by John Pinkerton, principle and founder of the company. The final billhead is from Booker tobacco. Booker issued the T74 Indian set in their Burley Cub cigarettes packs.
The billheads are in VG to VGEX condition except for the Pinkerton that has a small piece missing from the upper border.
