The R80 Novelty Gum League of Nations set is a 50 card set picturing a native with the country's flag in the background and a small vignette in the background of something for which the country is known. The cards were issued in packs and also had a small cardboard box that looked like a book that would hold all 50 cards. The box was available from a redemption offer and is very difficult to obtain. The box is made to look like a book that would reside on a shelf and notes that it is Volume 1 to 50 and has a checklist on one set of flaps and some notes about the set and manufacturer on the other set of flaps. There is another lot in the auction with a high grade group of R80 cards.
This lot contains both a wax wrapper from a package of R80 cards and the redemption box for the set. The wrapper is in G to VG condition with only a couple of edge nicks and some light discoloration to the fold lines on the wrapper. The box has been unfolded and is flat and in VGEX or better condition.
