The Shelby Gum company of North-central Ohio issued the R47 Fighting Planes set in 1930. Aviation and plane spotting was an avid hobby for people both for fun, and, later, to help ensure safety of the USA. The set pictures many of the more famous aircraft of the time in the ever-growing field of aviation. Shelby issued a few sets during this period with their gum products. This is a clean, even set of (24) cards that displays excellently.

Condition breakdown on this set is as follows: EX-EXMT(10 cards), VG-VGEX(12 cards) and P-G (2 cards with #14 being handcut).
