The 1933 Goudey Sport Kings set is a (48) card set issued by Goudey in one of the seminal years of card production--1933. Goudey issued the 1933 Baseball set as well as a few nonsports set in 1933. The Sport Kings set features a who's who of sports stars including Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb, Bobby Jones, Knute Rockne and Red Grange and Jim Thorpe among many more. The 2-3/8" by 2-7/8" cards feature a color painting of the athlete against a solid background of various colors. The set is wildly popular among collectors.
This single 1933 Goudey Sport Kings card is of the subject #4 Red Grange that has been graded PSA1.5 or Fair. The card exhibits wear to the corners and borders but retains great coloring with no surface issues with a very clean back.
