Inaugural January 2019 Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 1/27/2019
Horrors of War is arguably one of the most impactful sets of cards in the nonsport realm. Gum, Inc issued the set in 1938 in the United States with 240 cards in the low number series before issuing a high number series of 48 cards. The Canadian counterpart, cataloged as V278 is only a 72 card set. The final 24 cards are the high series and very hard to find. Overall, the O-Pee-Chee cards are much tougher to obtain and the only difference is the backs of the card state "Printed in Canada" rather than the "Gum, Inc" tagline for the U.S.-printed cards.
This lot of (4) have been PSA-Graded and include the following cards in the following grades: #1 Marco Polo Bridge VG3, #4 War Planes Over Tientsin VG3, #40 Panay Machine Gunners VGEX4 and #48 Bombing an American School Building VG3. The tough #1 card in this lot is in reasonably clean condition.
