American Caramel was the undisputed heavyweight of Caramel cards created in the first quarter of the 20th century. Their sets were detailed and, in some cases colorful, representations of the subjects they portrayed. The nonsports sets are typically 20-25 cards in length such as this E49 Wild West Set. The set pictures Scouts and Indian subjects of the Wild West--a popular subject for cards in the early 20th century. Famous scouts in this set include Kit Carson, Pawnee Bill, Davy Crockett, Buffalo Bill and General George Custer. Famous Indians include Always Riding, Black Bear, Sitting Bull and others.

The E50 John Dockman Wild West Caramels set is a 24 card set picturing figures from the West such as Cowboys, Guides and Indians. Many popular figures are in the set and none more so than Buffalo Bill. Ever the showman, William F Cody or "Buffalo Bill" personified the exciting life that people believed that settlers in the West led. His Wild West show toured the country with stories and showmanship from Cowboys and Indians riding horses, shooting guns and acting out scenes of life in the Wild West.

This lot of (6) E49/E50 cards are in Good to VGEX condition. The lot contains a single E49 of the subject David Crockett in VG condition and (5) E50's in Good to VGEX condition including Teddy Roosevelt with the smallest paper pull on the back but Beautiful front. Great lot of Wild West figures.
