The 1961 Topps Cars set was one of the earlier forays for Topps into oversized cards. They would use a similar format on the 1965 Football set and the 1969/1970 basketball sets but the format never made it into the baseball world. The card fronts picture bold colored backgrounds with popular sports cars in the foreground. The card backs are the salmon colored format of some of the later football and basketball cards of the same size format. The cards can be found in both white and gray backs.
This lot of (73) 1961 Topps Sports Cars are in VGEX to NRMT with most in the EX range. Beautiful lot for the set builder with some duplication.
