The R39 Dare Devils set is a (24) card set from National Chicle picturing people in compromising situations making Dare Devil decisions. Each card pictures some harrowing event from some situation--many of which are known to many people. The cards would have captured the intrigue of the small child in 1935--the date of issue. They were issued alongside National Chicles other issues of the mid 1930's including the Diamond Stars baseball series and the National Chicle football series. The cards are very popular with collectors.
This lot of (5) R39 National Chicle Dare Devils have all been graded by PSA and includes the following cards: #4 The Clue that Got "Machine Gun" Kelly (PSA2.5 Good+), #6 The Duel to Death (PSA4 VG-EX), #8 Marshall Ben "Marked" Him! (PSA4 VG-EX), #19 G-Men Die Getting "Baby Face" PSA2.5 Good+ and #21 Rickenbacker's Most Thrilling War Experience (PSA2 Good). Great lot of cards from this very popular set.
