The N184 set was Kimball's only foray into the world of sports. It pictured four baseball players, a number of boxers and other sports of the day like pedestrians, wrestlers, oarsmen, chess players and sharpshooters. Cards in the set can be found with one of two variations--with the "W.S. Kimball & Co Cigarettes" tagline on the front top of the card or without. There doesn't seem to be a specific premium for either variation.
This lot of (3) N184 W.S. Kimball Champion Athletes are in poor condition with the backs separated. The cards were printed in layers and laminated together and it's not uncommon to find a front missing a back due to some type of soaking. Absent this important flaw, the cards look to be EX condition cards with super clean fronts and no damage on the smooth backs.
