The R722 classification has been expanded to include (31) sets according to non-sport.com. The classification covers candy boxes with perforated cards meant to be punched out and collected into sets. Most are or were issued by the Novel or Leader Novelty companies of New York. Most sets contain (12) different subjects or boxes and generally they have some narrative and number printed on the back of the card or inside of the box.
With only (5) cards checklisted at non-sport.com and the highest number seen being #6, it's believed that the R722-2 Crime Buster Stories set from Novel Package is a (6) card set. The set pictures governmental figures involved in busting crime.
This lot contains a complete R722-2 Novel Package Co. Crime Busters box that has been disassembled and flattened. The box contains the #3 subject "Treasury Man". The card itself is in VGEX condition with no real issues. The overall box condition would have to be considered poor with some paper loss on the "Crime Busters" panel and some light creasing. This box is a very tough get from one of the apparently smaller Novel sets in the R722 classification.
