Auction #16 - February 2024

Between 1909 and 1935, Tom Mix appeared in 291 films. Of these 291 films, all but 9 were silent pictures. Mix's white cowboy hat and on-screen persona cemented him as Hollywood's first Western star. He was a guaranteed success at the box office and starred with all the leading ladies of the day. Mix helped define the Western genre of films and lead them from the silent pictures into the dawn of the talking motion pictures we know today.
Toward the end of his unparalleled career, National Chicle issued this set of (48) booklets around 1934. The booklets were issued in two series, the second of which is prohibitively more difficult to acquire than the first. Rarely are single copies of high number booklets found and to find a complete set of (48) with all (24) high numbers intact is very rare. This set gives the collector the opportunity to complete that set in a single transaction and would be an excellent addition to even one of the best collections out there.
This lot of (23) R151 National Chicle Tom Mix Booklets are in VG to VGEX condition and clean. There is one booklet (#25) from the high series included in this lot.
