Kinney Tobacco issued three different horse sets in a small format in the late 1880's to early 1890's. The N229 set were American horses, the N230 were English horses and the N231 set represented Great Trotting horses. The N230 cards as contained in this lot pictured English horses known for winning the bigger races in Europe--especially the English Derby.
This lot of (7) cards from the N230 Kinney Cigarettes Great English Horses have all been SGC Graded and include the following subjects: SGC70 EX+ (2 Cards: Cremorne and Iroquois) and SGC60 EX (5 cards: Blair Athol, Caractus, Dead Heat, Gladiateur and The Marquis). Great lot of clean cards from this popular set.
