It is rare to find proof cards from the 19th century but even rarer still to find uncut proof sheets and even rarer still to find them from a Hall's Between the Acts product. The Between the Acts brand cards were some of the earlier insert cards from the 1880's.
The sheet of 6 in this lot is what appears to be an earlier proof sheet for (6) cards from the N342-4 set including the subjects Amy Busby, Miss Ethel Matthews, Mabel Millett, Minnie Ratcliffe, Effie Shannon and an actress with no name which appears to be Jenny Goldthwaite from visual checklists.
Viewing proofs is always an interesting look into the printing process and how the cards were potentially laid out on the sheets and reviewed. This sheet measures X by X and is in EXMT condition--clean front and back. This would make a phenomenal addition to any Halls Between the Acts collection or 19th century proof collection.
