The R173 Gum Inc World in Arms set was one of a number of War sets that Gum Inc issued from the late 1930's through the early 1940's. The set totaled (48) cards and had an odd numbering scheme grouping cards into types of subjects such as ships, planes, artillery and others and then numbering the cards within those categories.
This lot includes three of the R173 Gum Inc World in Arms Sample Cards. The sample cards were printed with red overprints on the back announcing the series similar to the ones for the Horrors of War. It's likely that these were given to store owners in advance of the release of the actual set and they are difficult to find today and quite collectible. This lot of (3) cards have been PSA-Graded and include the following: High Speed Tank #2 PSA2 Good, U.S. 75 MM Field Gun PSA2 Good and Italian Flame Throwers #1 PSA3 VG.
