The R43 American Mint Company set is one of the more oddball sets that were cataloged by Jefferson Burdick and added to the American Card Catalog. Although the entry in the ACC calls the set "Doughboys", the doughboys is but one subset of the larger set. The Doughboys number (20) tubes, Minute Men (10) tubes, Yankees (10) tubes and Troopers (10) tubes. The tubes are about 3 inches tall and constructed of thick cardboard with the slick character layer adhered to the outside of the tube. The top of the tube is a thinner cardboard type top that was obviously once adhered to the top of the tube. The (50) total tubes are tough to obtain and even tougher to complete the different subsets or the complete set.
This near set of (16/20) R43 American Mint Corporation Doughboys) are in EX to EXMT condition and very clean. All the caps are with them as well. This represents a unique opportunity to knock out 80% of a complete set of these tough collectibles.
