The R99 Nightmare of Warfare Strip Card set was issued by W.S. Corporation in 1938. W.S. Corp issued a number of strip cards featuring war-time themes during the late 1930's into the early 1940's as WWII began to spool up. This set, like many of the others, pictures wartime scenes that are often VERY difficult to look at. The cards are numbered in the lower left of the front with a title of the scene pictured. The drawings are relatively crude drawings and in multi-color. The backs of the cards are numbered at the top center and note the set is a series of 48 cards. There is a short narrative on the back of the card that details the scene on the front.
This lot of (4) strips of (8) cards each are in VGEX to EX condition generally. All four strips have light folds at the center where they were at one time folded. One strip has some light staining on the back but all present really well overall. Tough to find this original "as issued" format for these popular strip card sets.
