The Mayo Tobacco Costumes of Warriors set is one of the more interesting sets of 19th century tobacco cards. It is a 19 card set, issued by Mayo to advertise their Holly Tobacco product as noted on the card backs. The cards have 2, 3 or 4 sides perforated which give them a look like a postage stamp. They are sized about the same as the normal 19th century tobacco card and can be found with either silver or gold background/edge printing. As they are perforated, it is believed they were printed in some configuration on one or more sheets to be torn apart.
Condition breakdown on this set is (4)P/F with some level of light back damage or paper adhered, (4) VG to VGEX and (11) EX to EX+. This sets presents very well and although there are some cards with technically lower grades, they have a very clean look to them.
