The T59 Flags set is a variation collector's wildest dream. It is believed that upwards of 7700+ cards could be collected in this set where the actual subjects only number 200. About a dozen different tobacco companies inserted these cards into their products and within those companies a number of different colors were used for the back printing as well as a number of different factories. The combinations and permutations of these rival the Old Judge and T206 baseball sets and actually number far more than either. Whether you attempt to finish just the 200 card set or do a back run of different types, there are many different ways to collect this set. If doing a back run, you'll find that one of the tougher backs to find examples of is the Puritan Little Cigars back.
This lot of (194) T59 Flag Series cards has little duplication and includes the following tougher backs: (39) Big Run Cigarros, (8) Scrap Iron Scrap and (1) Hustler back. Great group of cards that are in Good to NRMT condition, averaging about VG/VGEX. The remainder of the cards fall into the Recruit, Sweet Caporal and Jack Rose groups.
