The Walter Johnson Candy Company issued the Dick Tracy card set in 1937 at the height of the Dick Tracy popularity. American kids were fascinated with spies, G-Men and anyone who would foil the cops and robbers of the day. The comic strip made its debut in October 14, 1931, in the Detroit Mirror. Dick Tracy's popularity has continued well into the 20th century with movies, comic books, cards and other items.
This lot includes a single R41 Walter Johnson Candy Company Dick Tracy Original Wrapper in Fair to Good condition with a very small hole below the bottom of the graphic as seen in the large scan.
