The Allen & Ginter Editors set of the late 1880's conveyed just how much importance was placed on the power of the pen. Many of the editors pictured in the set were some of the most powerful men in the United States at the time. Pulizter, Belo and many more. The 50 card set employed great lithography and the cards were numbered on the back. This set, like some of the other A&G sets, seems to have used possibly some type of coating on the front which make them susceptible to flaking of the surface.
This lot of (4) N1 Allen & Ginter American Editors cards includes the following PSA-Graded subjects: #3 John Arkins (PSA5 EX), #11 W.D. Bickham (PSA5 EX), #17 F.W. Dawson (PSA5 EX) and #40 William E. Quinby (PSA5 EX). Great group of high mid-grade cards for the set builder.
