The E171 Henry Heide Candies Great Americas set is a set of (7) strips of four cards and an 8th strip picturing the Hall of Fame of Great Americans and George Washington. The set pictures 29 of the Great Americans. The cards measure 5" Wide by 1-5/16" High. The Hall of Fame of Great Americans is an outdoor sculpture gallery located on the grounds of Bronx Community College (BCC) in the Bronx, New York City. The 29 pictured represent the election of 1900. In 1905, eight additional subjects were added so it is likely the set was issued sometime after 1900 and before 1905.
This pair of E171 Heide's Candies Great Americans strips include the following subjects (listed from left to right on the front of the card): Peabody/Longfellow/Whitney/Clay (PSA1 Poor) and Grant/Audubon/Cooper/Webster (PSA1.5 Fair). The fragile, paper-like nature of these cards makes it difficult to find high grade copies and this pair have a better appearance than their technical grades.
