The R129 series of 48 Western Strip cards were published sometime in the mid-to-late 1930’s and were likely a point of sale premium for some type of candy or gum product. As with many of the strip card sets of the same time, they were printed in strips of eight cards and were made to be cut or torn apart. The cards are numbered 300-347 and contain some similar subjects to the R128-2 series that is also in this auction as well as some of the R73 Goudey Indian gum subjects. Some of the famous Indians include Geronimo and Samoset among others. Some of the famous Americans in the set include Andrew Jackson, John Paul Jones and Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Grant, among others. Some famous event cards in the set include the Declaration of Independence, Washington Crossing Delaware and the Discovery of the Mississippi.

Condition breakdown on this lot is as follows: EX to EX+ condition and clean (6 cards), VGEX condition (20 cards) and VG with some light to moderate creasing (22 cards),.All card fronts have been scanned and a sample page of card backs which are representative of the cards in the set.
