The R128-2 Western Strip card set is a 48 card set picturing cowboys and Indians and scenes of Western life. The set can be found in two different numbering schemes--1-48 and 201-248. The series two is the 201-248 and contains the same subjects as the series one but just a different numbering scheme. The set pictures famous cowboys like Buffalo Bill, Wild Bill Hickock, Jessee James, Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone and Kit Carson among others. Scenes like Bronco Busting, Bull Dogging, Stampede, Stage Coach and Custer's Last Stand are also part of the set. And finally, famous Indians like Sitting Bull, Pontiac, Red Jacket and Tecumseh round out the subjects. The artwork, in most cases, is a more primitive version of the R73 Goudey cards of the same titles. Most of the photos have been reversed from the orientation of the Goudey examples. The backs of the cards are printed in blue with the card number and title printed on the back.
Condition breakdown on the set is as follows: EX to EXMT (12 cards), VGEX with mostly corner wear (24 cards) and VG with some level of creasing (12 cards). All card fronts and a page of card backs are scanned which are representative of the cards in the set.
