In 1966, Batman was an already-established comic property from the DC series that began in the late 1930's. Detective Comics and Batman comics were a longstanding favorite of many and Topps sought to capitalize on the Batman popularity as the Adam West TV Show began in 1966. Topps issued a number of Batman-themed card sets in the 1960's with the black bat set being one of the most popular. The 66 card set pictures Batman and sidekick Robin engaging with all their arch enemies like the Joker, Penguin and others.
The condition breakdown on this set is as follows: EX to EXMT condition (52 cards) and VGEX condition (14 cards). Nice, overall clean set from this popular series.
