Inaugural January 2019 Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 1/27/2019
The F277-2 series of Heinz Airplanes is often called the Art Deco version of the F277-1 series due to the more crude pictures of the same subjects. The fronts and backs of the cards have the card number printed twice—on the bottom of the fronts and the top of the backs. In addition to the visual changes, in many instances, but not all, the planes are facing the opposite direction in the F277-2 series from the orientation of the F277-1 series. The F277-2 series is a tougher series to complete than the F277-1 and it also has the production codes on the back in the lower right corner. The codes on most of the F277-2 seem to end in 34 or 35, so it may be that this set predated the F277-1 series.
Condition breakdown on this set is (6) GVG due to light back issues or writing on the back and (19) VGEX to EX. Overall, the set presents clean and evenly.
The cards in this set can be found with numbers on both the front and the back or on the front only. This set contains (13) cards with numbers on the front and back and (12) with numbers on the front only.
