The American Tobacco Company (ATC) issued a number of sets of cards that were primarily bound for distribution overseas--in the United Kingdom to compete against the British American Tobacco Trust in an effort to build sales. The sets picture actresses and many other subjects and are usually cataloged in the T400-T499 series. The T401-2 Actress series is a 300 card set of black and white cards picturing actresses on black and white glossy cards with their name at the bottom front. The card stock is thinner like the majority of cards in the different sets. The backs of the cards are known as "blue net" types which feature the brand "American Tobacco Co" in a round setting with a blue net background. Other variations of this back can be found with green and black printing.
This lot of (52) cards fromi the T401-2 American Tobacco Company Actresses are the black and white thinner versions with the blue net back. The cards in the lot run from Good to EX with most around VG/VGEX condition.
