The N375 Ellis Tobacco Breeds of Dogs series is a set of (25) cards issued by Ellis Tobacco with three different brands of their cigarettes--Triplex, Bengals Cheroots and Tiger cigarettes. The cards in the set can be found with bottom front advertising for each of these three brands offering up a total of (75) different variations for the set. Arguably the most beautiful dog cards of the 19th century tobacco cards, this set is very popular with collectors.
This complete set of (25) N375 H. Ellis Breeds of Dogs cards are in GVG to near EX condition with most cards falling into a pleasing VG/VGEX range. The set is about evenly distributed between Tiger Cigarettes and Bengal Cheroots advertising on the fronts. The backs are mostly clean and complete intact throughout the set. This is a great, turnkey set to place in an advanced 19th century collection.
