World Wide Gum issued the R124 Sea Raiders set on a theme that was very popular--Pirates. The cards are very popular today as they can be collected in a number of different ways. The set was issued in two series--a low and a high. The low series are relatively plentiful and can be completed without a significant amount of trouble. The high series (#25-48) have become very difficult to find and one card in particular--the map card--has taken off in price and seems to be even more difficult to find as of late.
The U.S. versions of the cards can be found with English Only backs and with English and French backs for all (48) cards. The Canadian version of the cards can also be found with both backs and they exist only for the low series. A total of 148 cards could be had between all series for both U.S. and Canadian versions.
This lot contains the highly elusive and key card to the R124/V359 set--the #45 Pirates Legacy or "Map Card". The card has been graded SGC1 with moderate corner wear and creasing. The card does, however, retain good coloring and clean bilingual back. The card offers an opportunity to get this elusive card at a lower entry point that some of the other higher grade copies we have had in the past.
