The Lorillard Tobacco Company issued a number of sets in the late 1880's including a good number of actress sets. Most of those sets are in more of a medium size format with the exception being the N250 Actress set. The set is smaller format, measuring 1-5/8" wide by 2-9/16" high. The card fronts are colorful lithographs of the named actresses with an advertisement at the bottom for either Sweet Russet Plug Tobacco or for Blot Fine Cut Chewing Tobacco. The set numbers 25 actresses with most of the bigger names of the day including Billie Barlow, Laura Burt and Annie Sutherland.
This lot includes a group of (6) N250 Lorillard Actresses cards with the Sweet Russet Plug advertising on the bottom front panel. The cards are in lower condition around Good to GVG. They are, however, clean and present well.
