The N281 Buchner Gold Coin American Scenes with a Policeman set is one of a number of sets that Buchner Tobacco issued in the 1880's. The set has (61) known subjects from the set picture policemen in various scenes across the United States.
In addition to the 'normal' N281 Buchner set, there can be found cards printed on very thin paper stock. Not much out there to explain the existence of these cards as there is no album for the set nor no known poster for the product either. The backs of the cards have the same blue printed advertising as well. The stock is thin and somewhat glossy on both sides.
This pair of N281 Buchner Tobacco American Scenes with a Policeman are for the subject "Johnstown After Flood". Both are in poor condition with the thin version having a long tear through the middle of the card.
