The 1950's and 1960's saw a huge dearth of movie star sets issued throughout Europe and no country was more prolific in issuing sets than was Holland. The Dutch issued dozens of sets of movie stars--generally full color, blank-backed sets that had some identifying set letter on them. The sets included mostly American movie stars of the 1950's and 1960's and some of the most popular stars of the day with Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Elvis Presley, Lucille Ball and many many more.
This lot of (43) cards are from a Dutch Gum set. The cards are numbered in the center bottom of the front along with the stars name tot he left of the number and the studio they worked for to the right of the number. The lot features a lot of big stars like Doris Day, Clark Gable, Roy Rogers, Gregory Peck, Bing Crosby, Joan Crawford and many more. The cards are VG to EXMT, averaging around VGEX. Great lot of stars.
